Location: Whangarei Town Basin – 31 Quayside | Whangarei’s Waterfront,
Price Range: Mid Range – $17 – $36
Hours: 9am to 11pm
The Quay on the waterfront at the Whangarei town basin is the city’s newest eatery. It has recently been completely overhauled and has a fresh interior with a menu to match.
Seating is both inside and outside looking over Parihaka and the Hatea River. I have been on more than one occasion now and all times been extremely satisfied.
The menu has something for every dietary range and is fairly priced in the $20-30 bracket. A popular dish with health nuts is the Quinoa with feta salad while the pancakes with caramelised bananas and mascarpone are a steal for $13.
Standout feature of this café is its staff that are all very polite, welcoming and attentive. If you’re in the town basin area it is a must-stop for a treat.
